The Undergraduate Academic Conference (TUAC) by IEEE Turkey Section

The Undergraduate Academic Conference (TUAC) by IEEE Turkey Section is an academic conference, which aims to encourage undergraduate students in engineering and natural sciences to document their projects in the form of an academic paper and obtain exceptional learning experience as well as career building opportunities. Additionally, TUAC aims to emulate conference experience for undergraduate level students and prepare undergrads by helping the participants develop research, paper writing, and presentation skills.

The conference was held online at the official YouTube Channel of IEEE Turkey Section on June 10-11, 2021. At the conference, participants have presented their papers in four different sessions which are planed after the lectures of the valuable guests. For more information, you can visit the official website of the conference [https://tuac.ieee.org.tr].

EE Department @IEEE PIMRC 2019!

Research carried out in EE Department was presented with three (3) papers in IEEE PIMRC 2019. All of the papers are presented in technical tracks one of which was chaired by, again, EE Department. The papers will be available at IEEE Xplore soon. The list of the papers presented could be found below:

– E. E., G. Cankaya, and et. al., “A Detection and Identification Method Based on Signal Power for Different Types of Electronic Jamming Attacks on GPS Signals,” has been accepted for publication in The IEEE 30th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), September 8-11, 2019, Istanbul, Turkey.

– S. C. Tokgoz and et. al., “ACO-OFDM Transmission over Underwater Pipeline for VLC-based Systems,” has been accepted for publication in The IEEE 30th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), September 8-11, 2019, Istanbul, Turkey.

– K. T., et. al., “Statistical Channel Modeling for Short Range Line-of-Sight Terahertz Communication” has been accepted for publication in The IEEE 30th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), September 8-11, 2019, Istanbul, Turkey.

The IEEE 16th Multi-Conference on Signals Systems and Devices was held in Sutluce!

SSD’19, Sutluce, Istanbul, Turkey

The IEEE 16th Multi-Conference on Signals Systems and Devices ( SSD’19 ) was hosted by Istanbul Commerce University and Tapir Lab. at Sütlüce, Istanbul, Turkey from 21st to 24th of March, 2019. During the conference 4 plenary sessions, 4 keynote lectures and 28 oral sessions was held.

SSD’19 multi-conference is organized to include 4 conferences covering different fundamental and applied aspects:

  1. “Int. Conf. on Systems, Automation & Control” (SAC)
  2. “Int. Conf. on Conference on Power Systems & Smart Energies” (PSE)
  3. “Int. Conf. on Communication, Signal Processing & Information Technology” (CSP)
  4. “Int. Conf. on Sensors, Circuits and Instrumentation Systems” (SCI)

SSD’19 secretariat has received 249 submissions from 28 countries: Algeria, Bahrain, Brazil, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, P.R. China, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA. Each paper has been reviewed by at least two reviewers of the program committee which consisted of more than 100 scientists from more than 30 countries. Only 144 papers have been accepted.

SSD’19 was the largest conferece hosted by Istanbul Commerce University and organized by Tapir Lab. Specialists from different countries gathered together to discuss and present novalities in the field of signals, systems and devices. Also, SSD’19 provided the possibility of meeting with engineers and scientist to the students of Istanbul Commerce University.

Tapir Lab. took active part in various ways in SSD’19 including transportation, accommodation, organization handling, logistics, and gala dinner. SSD’19 has been a great success for Tapir Lab. as well!

Tapir Lab. thanks Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) for being a sponsor of SSD’19.
