Sports Marketing & Management for the executive candidates of Sports Industry


The field of sports management is one of the fastest growing fields in the world and the necessity for qualified human resources in global standards upon executive necessities is growing in parallel to expanding economic capacity of the field. The enterprises of internationally growing sports economics incorporate the practices that contain multicultural and multi-lingual management, production, marketing, and communication related to scientific disciplines comprising various learning abilities. Sports industry, in which various sub-disciplines such as sports law, sports health, sports marketing, sports communication correspond in economics and in which specialization is gradually increasing, witness the development of many sports products and services that are necessary for the professional sports organizations. The developments in the digital communication technologies result in the birth of new markets and creation of new employment areas.

M. A. Programme of “Sports Marketing & Management” is a graduate program aiming at producing human resource capable to run the activities of sports marketing primarily in Turkey and anywhere in the world and capable to perform multi-cultural and global market management and communication.

Through the program it is aimed the development of human resource needed by all the national and international sport institutions and sport organizations, and the development of a manager profile needed in the field of professional sports management.

Sports Economics   (English)

The aim of the course is to feature the components of sports such as the investments in the field of sports within the scope of countries’ level of development and economic capacities, the quality of managements, the economic values generated by international sport organizations, etc.

Within the scope of the course, the development of sports economy in Turkey and in the world, the capacity and value generated by economic actors and institutions will be analyzed and dealt with as part of the researches conducted in the field.

Sports Branding and Communication (English)

Considering the fact that the value of a product is generated through branding, the course aims to study branding in the field of sports and the positive effect of branding on sport marketing. In this course, students will deal with the branding practices in all the fields. The changes in the field of sport will be analyzed with examples in terms of sports communication.

Principles and Practice of Sports Marketing

Within the scope of the principles of marketing mix,  the course aims to study development of marketable products, designing market value and pricing, developing distribution strategies of the products designed in the field of sport, analysis of promotion and communication works and to analyze how the prominent sport brands get succeed by reference to their practices in the field.

The Global Sports Business (English)

Sport executives are in the position of global organizations in today’s global world. The course aims to deal with global organizations of sports industry, services, products and production of all kinds of works and their methods regarding planning and application. The differences on the basis of countries will be conducted through the method to analyze different executive practices in the field.

Sports Media and Authorship

Media is a highly important field for sport communication, advertisement and design of followers of sportive activities. The fact that sportive activities have a special place in media contexts has resulted in expansion of mass sportive activities. The sports media and authorship course is a course aiming at analysis of popularization of sports in terms of media and analysis of sports media by analysis of examples.

Sports Events and Organization Management

Sports as a part of entertainment industry creates the source of nationwide and international organizations. Planning of management of sportive activities forms a field of managership and it requires an expertise for each branch of sports. Within the scope of the course, it will be dealt with all the steps of sports events and organizations from the step of preparation to the step of realization by analysis of practices in the field.

The Law and Regulation of Sport

Since the practices of sports managements, the activities of national and international organizations are carried out under particular rules and regulations, this field should be dealt specifically and separately. Within the scope of this course, the practices in the field of law, and national and international regulations will be analyzed.

 Professional Practice in Sport Business

This course aims to develop the abilities of sports executive prospects in terms of executive understanding and practices of international sport institutions that are professionalized in a specific field of sports as well as national sport institutions such as sport clubs, sport federations, etc.

Sport Business Management (English)

This course aims to deal with administration, process of decision making, process of planning and application of sport companies by analysis of the institutions and individuals that invest in the field of sports.

Sports Finance and Enterprise

Finance as the most important instrument of economics has an important place in the field of sports. It has various entrepreneurship practices from investments in the sub structure of sportive activities to the investments in developing athletes. The course will deal with the development of finance and entrepreneurship in the field of sports by analysis of practices in the field.

Social Media & Digital Communication

The field, in which sport communication is intensely observed, is digital media applications. Especially the development of the field of communication science in terms of digital applications and social media, have affected the industrial development of sports; social media and digital applications have become an important sphere of practice for sport communication and marketing.

The course aims to deal with developments in the field in terms of digital communication applications.

The course aims to conduct seminars in the field of sports industry and to support development of student in terms of academic research methodology.
