Erhan Usta
Deputy Undersecretary, Ministry of Development, Turkey

Erhan Usta, born in Samsun-Turkey in 1966, graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences in 1988. At March 1989, he has started to work at State Planning Organization as Assistant Planning Expert. He became Planning Expert at November 1993, with the expertise thesis titled ‘An analysis of municipalities’ employment, incomes and  expenses in Turkey’.

He obtained M.A. degree as the top student in the department of economic policy and planning at Northeastern University, USA. He was appointed to head of Department of Finance at November 1999 and general director of General Directorate of Annual Programmes and Economic Evaluations at November 2001. He has been Deputy Undersecretary since June 2009. In June 2011, name of State Planning Organization was changed as Ministry of Development and Mr. USTA carries on his position as Deputy Undersecretary in Ministry of Development.

Erhan Usta, in addition, works as a member to several commissions. He continues to study his Ph.D. degree (currently at thesis stage) in economics at Celal Bayar University, Manisa, Turkey.

He is fluent in English. He is married and has three children.
