Mark Lewis
IMF Resident Representative in Turkey

Born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1962, Mark Lewis has been the IMF’s Senior Representative in Turkey since September 2010. Mr. Lewis has worked with the IMF for 17 years, and has extensive experience covering a wide range of countries and policy issues. Just prior to taking up his current position, he served as Mission Chief for Morocco and Division Chief for the Caucasus Division (covering Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Turkmenistan) in the IMF’s Middle East and Central Asia Department. Before that, Mr. Lewis worked in the IMF’s Strategy and Policy Review Department, where he covered regional developments, including in Europe and Latin America. Previous country responsibilities included Russia and Ukraine. Prior to joining the IMF, Mr. Lewis spent several years at the World Bank, and before that, lived and worked for three years in the Southern Sudan.

Mr. Lewis has an M.P.P. from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and a B.A. degree from Swarthmore College.
