INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NEW TRENDS IN COMMUNICATION

“Ideas broaden horizons of thought.”

We are glad to announce that as Istanbul Commerce University Communication Faculty we are organizing 2nd International Conference on New Trends in Communication and focus of the conference will be “Entertainment and Product Placement”. Researchers from the fields of advertising, marketing communication, public relations, journalism, cinema, visual communication, new media, digital communication are all welcome to apply the conference.

Conference aims to facilitate academic collaboration among researchers and to outline the underlying factors behind ever-increasing use of product placement in entertainment industry in today’s marketing communication practices. Primary drive of this trend is the latest technological developments in digital communication which makes ROI measurements relatively easy. Rapid changes in the general view of the mediascape triggered serious changes in the entertainment ecosystem. Marketing communication professionals, brands and agencies are not hesitant at all in adopting new means for their good old ends. To present the overall picture of the field and to propose a structural analysis of the current situation regarding entertainment and product placement both from critical and interpretative perspectives will be the main motive of the conference.

Every  participant can send maximum two full Papers to  2nd NTC Conference and accepted full papers  publish  in the conference E-Book.  Also, this conference appropriate to  the YOK Academic Encouragement Criterion and Assoc.Prof. Exams criterions in Turkey.

Researchers of all levels  from the fields of advertising, marketing communication, public relations, journalism, cinema, visual communication, new media, digital communication and related academic disciplines are all welcome to apply the conference. Conference aims to facilitate academic collaboration among researchers and graduate students, and to outline the underlying factors behind ever-increasing use of product placement in entertainment industry in today’s communication practices. Primary drive of this trend is the latest technological developments in digital communication. Rapid changes in the general view of the mediascape triggered serious changes in the entertainment ecosystem. To present the overall picture of the field and to propose a structural analysis of the current situation regarding entertainment and product placement both from critical and interpretative perspectives will be the main motive of the conference.

Full articles are expected to be sent to Dr. İhsan Eken before 10 April 2018. (ieken@ticaret.edu.tr) Accepted papers can also be presented online via video conference. Selected papers by the conference referees will be published as an E-book with ISBN after full papers are approved by the editorial board.

 

Conference Fee:

  • Internationals: 100$
  • International Graduate Students: 50 $
  • Internationals (Online Presentation): 50 $
  • Locals: 100 TL
  • Local Graduate Students: 50 TL
  • Local (Online Presentation): 50 TL

 

Not: Fee includes VAT. International applicants are expected to send respective amount to Istanbul Commerce University Account: “It will be announced later“. Receipt of the payment should be e-mailed to the address aekaragulle@ticaret.edu.tr by 30 April 2018. Applicants who fails to pay the fee and applicants who don’t send full paper by 15 April 2018 will be excluded from the conference book.

Every attendant will receive a conference bag and a participation certificate. USB memory stick that includes the conference e-book will also be delivered to all participants.
